A year of growth and innovation — from tastings and pilot-scale production to advancing sustainable, circular food systems
What an incredible year it’s been at Dapibuset! We’re ending 2025 feeling grateful, proud, and energized for what’s ahead. This year has been full of growth — in people, partnerships, milestones, and bold steps toward our mission of transforming side streams into high-value ingredients that support a more resilient, circular food system.
A Growing Team, Blentarp Office & Pilot Plant
2025 started with momentum — and it didn’t stop. Our team expanded, and we’re excited that even more talent will be joining us in January. We also moved into our own offices in Blentarp, where we successfully launched our pilot plant — a major milestone in our journey from lab-scale innovation to scalable biomanufacturing.
Investment, Accelerators & Awards
In Q1 2025, we successfully closed our investment round, giving us the fuel to further develop our pilot plant and strengthen our technology platform. This investment was a strong validation of our circular, modular biomanufacturing approach and its potential to transform undervalued side streams into high-quality ingredients.
Additionally, we were honored to be selected for the MassChallenge Switzerland 2025 Accelerator Program, one of the most competitive early-stage accelerators globally. Their mentorship and community have played an important role in refining our strategy and preparing us for the next growth phase.
To top it off, 2025 brought exciting recognition for the whole team, as Dapibuset was named Company of the Year at FoodTech Forum 2025, Sweden’s leading foodtech event — an award celebrating entrepreneurial drive, scalable impact, and solutions accelerating a more sustainable food system. We were also proud to receive second place in the Rosewood Seeds: Sustainability in Food competition, a global award led by the Rosewood Foundation recognizing innovations advancing circular, waste-reducing food solutions.
Mycospan™ — Exploring Possibilities Beyond Feed
2025 was a year of exploration for our trademarked product, Mycospan™.
Our flagship ingredient — produced by fermenting side streams into a naturally nutrient-rich, non-GMO ingredient— captured imaginations far beyond animal feed. This year, we explored Mycospan™ not only as a feed ingredient, but also as a food ingredient.
Throughout the year, we:
- Hosted and participated in a number of events, where people could taste Mycospan™ in dishes such as gnocchi, spaghetti, patties and falafel, prepared by our chef. This included our first large-group private tasting as well as public tastings at UNEXPECTED Forum (where more than 200 people tried Mycospan™-based food) and FoodTech Forum. Across these events, we collected valuable feedback through surveys and discussions on taste, texture, applications, and circular food systems.
- Collaborated with Lund University Food Science students, who developed creative products using Mycospan™ — including cinnamon rolls and a spreadable cheese — showcasing the versatility of the ingredient.
- As part of his food science studies at Lund University, our chef Gabriel conducted a professional sensory analysis at Solina, where he showcased Mycospan™ in prepared dishes. The experience provided valuable hands-on learning and insights that he brings back to Dapibuset as we continue developing Mycospan™ applications into 2026.
- Collaborated with a team of master’s students from Lund University School of Economics and Management, who carried out a short strategic project exploring Dapibuset’s future growth and international potential, further validating our direction toward a platform business model and identifying international scaling opportunities.
Mycospan™ — Continued Exploration of Animal Feed
• We also continued to validate Mycospan™ in animal nutrition. In 2025, Dapibuset joined Axfoundation’s program “Framtidens foder för fågel, fisk och fläsk” (Future feed for poultry, fish & pork). Axfoundation provides a strong ecosystem of farmers, feed producers, food companies, and researchers working together on climate-smart feed solutions — making this collaboration especially impactful.
• We also continued to validate Mycospan™ in animal nutrition. In 2025, Dapibuset joined Axfoundation’s program “Framtidens foder för fågel, fisk och fläsk” (Future feed for poultry, fish & pork). Axfoundation provides a strong ecosystem of farmers, feed producers, food companies, and researchers working together on climate-smart feed solutions — making this collaboration especially impactful.As part of this initiative, and in collaboration with SLU, we tested Mycospan™ for pig feed. The collaboration focuses on testing Mycospan® as a circular, locally produced protein ingredient to help reduce dependency on imported soy. We are excited to continue this collaboration and further explore Mycospan™’s potential as a circular, locally produced protein ingredient in animal nutrition.
Collaborations That Inspire
2025 deepened our connections with leading academic and innovation partners. We collaborated closely with Lund University, SLU, and Axfoundation, as well as with Biotech Heights and UC Berkeley, across research, seminars, strategy projects, and real-world testing.
